Joyce Currier, Vice President of ArtsEgallery, shares a lifelong passion for the arts with her sister, ArtsEgallery co-founder and President Hinda Abramoff. In the summer of 2012, the two teamed up and brought their idea for an online arts gallery to life by launching ArtsEgallery.com as a family-run business.
Joyce, a resident of the Bronx in New York City, is a certified Orientation and Mobility Specialist employed by the New York City Department of Education. For more than 25 years, Joyce has applied her skills in the arts to teach blind and visually impaired children learn how to travel and live independently. With the use of photography and maps, Joyce enhances children’s ability to learn and navigate new territories using monuculars (telescopes used by the visually impaired to view distant objects) and canes.
Formerly, Joyce was the co-owner of a national real estate brokerage business, and she brings extensive sales and administrative experience to ArtsEgallery.
She earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Psychology and Special Education from the Georgia State University in 1982.
At ArtsEgallery, Joyce plans to create a marketplace for artists and buyers to come together and benefit from the joy, excitement, and inspiration that art can bring.
Joyce lives with her husband, David Currier, and two children. She is a member of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired.
Joyce and Hinda continue to travel together to art shows throughout the East Coast and Midwest and look forward to contributing their lifelong passion and experience to further the success of ArtsEgallery.
